Don Campbell, President of Inside Out Landscapes, Inc. began his career in the retail nursery trade and was inspired to enroll in horticulture classes first at Ventura Community College and then continuing at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he Graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Ornamental Horticulture class of 1979.
Soon after he started his own business “Interior Gardens” specializing in the new Interior Plant Rental trade. This led to accounts with such high profile clients as The Beverly Hills Hotel remodel in 1995 and the Pacific View Mall reopening in 1999. Inside Out Landscapes worked closely with the interior designers in selecting The appropriate plantings and decorative containers. Interior plantscape installation and maintenance services are currently provided by Inside Out Landscapes to well Known local businesses such as Santa Barbara Bank and Trust, California Pizza Kitchen, Dako Corporation, and University Center, UCSB.
In 1990 Inside Out Landscapes became a Licensed Landscape Contractor by passing The California State Contractor’s license board testing and was issued a C-27 license #633266. Continuing education through the “green gardeners” Adult Ed program and seminar’s at the annual Landscape Contractor’s trade show keep IOL current with all the skills needed for the trade. IOL often works directly with the client on designing their landscape and also has worked with many of the local landscape architects over the years such as: Susan Van Atta and Associates - Carpinteria Historical Museum Owen Dale - residential projects with the emphasis on sustainable landscapes Grant Castleberg - many large scale properties in Montecito and Santa Barbara
